Hooray! Hooray!
Laura Coulter Graduates In May!

Laura Coulter graduated from some school in Chapel Hill, and received her masters in Speech Pathology. It was not clear whether it was Chapel Hill High Extended Older Adults Program, or some college, that Laura received her degree from. Still, it is an impressive achievement.

In attendance of the graduate's special day were many famous celebrities, including Danny Thomas a potential All-American football star from The University of Alabama, Amanda Thomas a distinguished graduate of North Carolina State University and rising star in the world of textiles, Kathryn Jones a highly regarded nurse and future mother, and Sheila Coulter Educator of The Year Catawba County.

The new graduate's days of hiding in the class room and partying with the frat rats have come to a screeching halt. "Welcome to the real world" her family chanted at her as she walked across the stage. Her father, Danny Coulter, was asked about remodeling her room for her inevitable move to Hickory. His reply was a blank wide eyed stare, followed by an inaudible comment that sounded like, "What! Moving home?" He was unavailable for comment as he ran towards the open bar.

The rest of the day went by rather smoothly, drinking wine and cheese and watching horse racing. The day was capped off with an excellent meal at Crook's Corner where we all ordered "Shrimp and Grits", the house specialty.

Laura has taken a job in Hickory at Frye Regional Medical Center. She has also rented a new apartment near her parents. Laura was overheard telling her cousins that she could run home at night if she got scared or if she ran out of items that were hard to come by such as toilet paper and soap. She has stated that she will try and spend all of her free time doing yard work at her parent's home to repay them for their love and support. Danny Coulter was quoted saying "I'll polish up the rake handle and sharpen the lawn mower's blade for her."
