The 2005 Dove Hunt

The 2005 Dove Hunt has come and gone. It was a great time despite the fact that we were missing some key people. Gone, maybe permanently, was our fearless East-Texas human smellhound - Richard Harris due to matirimonial lock down. We were also missing Mr. 12 Birds 1 Shot Sean and Dennis "I've Been Shot!" Cagwin.
This years hunt was marked with some other significant changes. Due to female occupation in the normal hunt shack, we had to stay at the Knight Family Cracker Barrel, complete with a full antique general store. Fortunately for all participants, we did have a new TV with a DVD player to watch one better movies of our parents' day -"Shaft". The hunt potential was great, but since no skeet shooting was allowed or "good death" was to be had, my shooting was texas style. 1 box - 1 bird.

I did get a good run down on the how good the Aggies were and how they were going whip Clemson. I also got to hear all the details from John Brasher (newly married and offiically a share cropper) on how the Long Horns are going to win it all - blah, blah, blah.
It was also good to see Steve Hahn as well as a rare glimpse of Rob Harris aka Robert Downey Jr. Anyway, it was a great time, especially getting the oppertunity to introduce a few new choice vocabulary words into the Dallas - Austin environment.

I got my boots, polo shorts, gucci shirt, now I just need to get out my $10,000 gun.

Mark and Granger talk about good times back at the "site" where they used to "fer it" out.

Not quite on the same par as Gauge or Kelsey, but

Mark Knight sans $10,000 gun.

Our own celebrity? Are we sure that Cary's real name isn't Bill "Riverdance" Wahlen?

Cary after the dove hunt?
